What does being a JA Classroom Volunteer consist of?
Our Classroom Volunteers are men & women from the community who volunteer to go into a classroom and teach one of JA's grade appropriate programs to the students.
Volunteers are trained and issued a classroom program kit which they will teach from. Each program kit is packaged with a detailed teaching outline, classroom handouts and activity supplies.
Teaching a JA program typically requires 1 hour per week for 5 - 7 weeks. Volunteers choose their times based on their own work/personal schedules.
Volunteers can choose from one of our available classes (listed below), or choose your own child's Social Studies/Economics class. Just let us know what your preference is when you fill out your Volunteer Registration Form.
