Internship Opportunity -We offer part-time, 5-10 hour a week, non-paid internships during spring and fall terms. Junior Achievement internships provide students with a behind-the-scenes look at non-profits in general and business in particular. Each intern is given a wide variety of responsibilities, such as writing press releases, attending trainings, researching grants, website design, volunteer recruitment and organizing special events. Current Junior Achievement project areas and events include:

  • Brazoria County Business Hall of Fame - participate in our annual Hall of Fame event which is basically the Oscars or Emmy for Brazoria County Business leaders.  It is the only event honoring actual entrepreneurs and business leaders in the County.  Each September 4 laureates are inducted into the Hall of Fame.  A volunteer and teacher of the Year are also recognized at this event along with a scholarship recipient from each High School in the County.
  • Campus Programs - work with JA staff to solicit volunteers to teach JA classroom programs on school campuses countywide and conduct outreach to at risk after school programs.
  • Bowl-a-thon – participate in the design and implementation of our winter fundraising event, Bowl-a-thon at the Clute and Alvin Bowling alleys.  Design t-shirts, recruit teams, solicit individual & corporate sponsorships as well as committee members for input. (those interns raising funds will be rewarded with gift cards to area businesses depending on how much raised)
  • Junior Achievement Online - be a part of a web design team. Plan, organize, and market JA's website.  Current site needs a new fresh look.
